I always had a thing for Eames chairs. Arne Jacobsen isn’t half bad either. These compositions by Monica Scürle compliment the furnity in a very minimalist and Scandinavian way with light interiors and large windows, where furniture adds the warmth to the room. (plastolux)

Flexible Love Folding Chair 3

Flexible Love Folding Chair 2 Flexible Love Folding Chair 1

FlexibleLove™ furniture incorporates an ‘accordion-like, honeycomb’ structure to create durable furniture pieces produced from widely-available recycled materials. FlexibleLove furniture, such as FlexibleLove Earth 16, are made from recycled paper and recycled wood waste, and are produced using pre-existing manufacturing processes in order to reduce their overall impact on the environment.

The name “Flexible Love” was derived from the concept of a ‘flexible love-seat’ – seating that could hold from one to as many as sixteen individuals; changing length and shape with a simple pull at each end. A honeycomb structure, used throughout the entire Flexible Love line, produces an accordion-like result that allows each piece to be extended and collapsed with ease.

The 2010 line includes FlexibleLove Virgin 20, FlexibleLove Earth 16, and FlexibleLove Earth 8. FlexibleLove White 16 coming soon! FlexibleLove was designed by Taiwanese designer Chishen Chiu, and is manufactured by Pinzaan Company Limited. (coutequecoute)

Random Mid Century Chair 2 Random Mid Century Chair 1

I saw this little lounge chair at a store last week and I must say that I think it is not entirely without charm. Sadly it did not have any labels on the bottom so I don’t know what make it is.

I’ll be honest, the only reason this house made it on here is because I like the versatility of the brown PK 22 chair that is used at the desk. Poul Kjœrholm’s chairs are at the pinnacle of modern chair design, but often don’t receive enough recognition, so here’s a little from Adequately Fresh.

This mid-terrace house in Ireland has been extensively refurbished into a contemporary live/work space. The new structure was conceived as a simple form which connects at ground level with the existing house. The tight site and strict planning constraints defined the form of the new extension from an early stage.

Although suitcases don’t actually look very functional and are a bit silly, as much as I have been traveling lately, they would definitely come in handy. At the Dutch design week in Eindhoven this week graduate designer Erik De Nijs of Nieuwe Heren presents a set of suitcases that can be combined to form a sofa when not in use.
